Motivation is something that’s easy to lose and hard to find. Recently this year I lost my motivation for months. Only, recently I was able to get it back. Here are a few motivational things that helped me.
It is blog-tember day 14. Two weeks in and still going strong. Today’s topic is “Make a mood board! Are you brainstorming a room re-do, a capsule wardrobe, or already planning for the holidays?” This is my first mood board. Hopefully, this helps someone.
If you look back at the history of this blog you’ll notice something. Between the end of May and Early August, there are no blog posts. At that time I had actually lost motivation to write anything.
Every day, I would think to myself “I should really start back writing on my blog.” I would always put it off until the next day. One day In August that changed. I found my motivation again and here’s what helped me.
I’m a quitter. I never finish anything or see anything through to the end. I want to change this about myself. I want to be able to persevere when things get tough. I can do it, and I won’t quit. I can do anything I put my mind too. You can too just believe in yourself.
Enjoy The Little Things
When you start to stress over a something it can start to become unenjoyable. That’s when you have to step back and look at the smaller things. The smaller things are often the main reason we can keep going and enjoy the things we do.
Just breathe. Breathe away any negative thoughts. Breathe away any worries and fears. Set yourself free from the weight that is holding you down. For me, that was the expectation that this blog was going to start making money fast. When it didn’t, writing felt like a chore. When I let that go and focused on the positive (helping others) writing became enjoyable again.
You Are A Warrior
You can make it through anything you set your mind too. You are a warrior. It is possible.
Speak positive and uplifting things about yourself. I am Capable. I am Strong. I am Creative. I am going to reach my dreams. No matter how long it takes.
Never Lose Hope
Things may get hard. You may hit a bump in the road but if whatever it is, is really something you want to do then never lose hope.
The main thing that helped me was looking at things from a different perspective. When I first started the blog I hoped it would be a way to help people. But my main focus was making money and when that didn’t happen in the first few months I lost my steam. So I changed my way of thinking. Instead of focusing on money I would focus on content. I would write about things that really I really felt passionate about. I would challenge myself and set goals.
So far so good. I am worried that I may lose my motivation again. When that happens, I have this motivational mood board to come back too. Hopefully, it helps you too.
